Blog 4 - 'SWOT Analysis'

'Teach A Songs' strengths are that it will always have relevant content as there will always be teachers who want resources and pupils who learn information easier through the rhythm of music and catchy songs. Another strength that this business has is that there isn’t really anything like this out there specifically for schools to provide their students with, to compliment this a personal strength I have is that my aim is to become a primary school teacher, this business would allow me to understand the subject areas that students struggle with and I could target these. I will also know the up to date curriculum.

A weakness I have found is that at the moment due to my lack of experience in the education field, it is hard to figure out what the hard aspects are for pupils. I am overcoming this by going into schools/ speaking to teachers about the subject areas, I am also researching every subject that is taught at this level.

I can take advantage of the fact that this is a gap in the market and it would be a useful resource for teachers to use to get through to pupils who struggle taking in information.

A threat I have found is that the resources out there are already pre-established within schools, for examples Bitesize has a reputation of being extremely reliable and provides the teachers and students with fun and quirky ways of teaching. I will eliminate this threat by getting the website out there ensuring that a wide variety of schools have heard of the business whether this be through word of mouth or googling. This will put the business on the market for the schools to use a different type of resource which is my USP, as it allows the teachers to play the podcast for the pupils to listen to in class. It will also allow the students to access it from home and can learn the podcast songs as they will be catchy enough.
